After careful consideration and evaluation, the difficult decision has been made to discontinue the Care Box Initiative until further notice due to current economic conditions (e.g., inflation, supply costs/higher costs, fewer financial resources/decline in charitable giving, etc). The decision was not made lightly. The Care Box Initiative helped to foster HOPE and promoted the well-being of 320 adult cancer patients. This change is necessary to ensure the long-term sustainability and effectiveness of the mission at Fight 4 Cure Inc. Fight 4 Cure Care Boxes are expressions of comfort and encouragement to let individuals (both men and women) know “They Are Not Alone”.
Guidelines
Free care boxes are for adult cancer patients only.
Due to the increase in requests for our services, the processing time for care boxes could potentially exceed the 2-3 weeks processing timeframe….we apologize for the inconvenience.
Eligibility Checklist
Adult cancer patients applying must meet the following criteria:
Must be U.S. Citizen or permanent resident and reside in AL, MS and NC.
Must be in active treatment or about to start treatment. (Note: All applications must have a letter of support signed by current healthcare team).
Must not have received a care box in the past.
Approval Process
The President will review the application and the supporting documentation (e.g., letter of support). If the application is approved, a care box will be mailed directly to the address listed on the Care Box application. Note: Any care boxes returned due to incorrect shipping address, improper delivery, etc will not be reshipped due to the cost associated with the shipment of these care boxes.
The President reserve the right to deny an application if the appropriate supporting documentation (e.g., letter of support) is not attached. Note: The President will send email correspondence to an applicant if additional information and/or clarification is needed.
Please Note: Items in Fight 4 Cure Care Boxes may vary which is dependent upon the time of year (e.g., Spring & Summer/Fall & Winter) or item availability. We will no longer ship outside AL, MS and NC and cannot deliver to individuals in hospitals and treatment centers. To ensure we can reach individuals affected by cancer; we can only send one care box per recipient.
**As a nonprofit organization, funding for this program relies on the generosity of donor support. Hence, the ability of Fight 4 Cure Inc to distribute free care boxes is dependent on the availability of funds which can result in the program being modified or discontinued at any time.
