Fight 4 Cure Raffle Official Rules 

Fight 4 Cure Inc, a North Carolina nonprofit corporation and tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, is conducting the 2019 Fight 4 Cure Raffle (the “Raffle”) to raise funds to provide small grants to other nonprofits that provide products and support services to individuals affected by cancer. The rules (the “Rules”) of the Raffle, set forth below, govern the Raffle, award of prizes, and participation in the Raffle. These Rules bind every person (a “Ticket Holder”) who buys or holds a Raffle ticket. By purchasing or holding a ticket, each Ticket Holder agrees (a) to be bound by these Rules and (b) that Fight 4 Cure Inc’s interpretation and application of these Rules is conclusive and final.

The Prize Drawings for the Raffle will take place on June 1, 2019 (the “Prize Drawings Date”). The raffle will award three prizes.

All drawings are open to the public, but the winner need not be present to win.

Raffle Ticket Information

Raffle Ticket Cost: Tickets are $3 each, 3 tickets for $5 or 4 tickets for $10.

Only one Eligible Ticket Purchaser (as defined below in the “Eligibility” section of these Rules) may purchase a ticket. This means, (a) one name per ticket and (b) one purchaser per ticket. An Eligible Ticket Purchaser may designate another person a Ticket Holder. Once Fight 4 Cure Inc awards the prize, Fight 4 Cure Inc will have no further duties or obligations with respect to the prize and the person in possession of the ticket as Ticket Holder release Fight 4 Cure Inc.

The IRS has taken the position that amounts paid for chances in raffles, lotteries or similar drawings for valuable prizes are not gifts and therefore do not qualify as deductible charitable contributions.

Purchaser and Ticket Holder Eligibility: To be eligible to purchase a ticket, a ticket purchaser (an “Eligible Ticket Purchaser”) must (a) be at least 18 years old at the time of purchase, (b) be a U.S. resident physically residing in the United States or District of Columbia.

Fight 4 Cure Inc board members and members of their household may not purchase a ticket and are not eligible to win a prize.

how to purchase tickets

Eligible Ticket Purchasers may purchase Raffle tickets in person the day of the charity event. Eligible Ticket Purchasers may not purchase tickets by email or voicemail. All entries must include payment in cash.

To win a prize, Ticket Holders must (a) possess the stub of the Raffle ticket and (b) do not need to be present at the drawing.

All Raffle ticket sales are final. Fight 4 Cure Inc will make no refunds. Fight 4 Cure Inc assumes no responsibility for lost tickets prior to the drawing.

Odds of winning

The odds of winning one or more prizes will depend on the number of tickets sold. If Fight 4 Cure Inc sells less tickets, the chance of winning a prize will increase.

Net Raffle Proceeds: As used herein, the term “Net Raffle Proceeds” means (a) the gross proceeds received by Fight 4 Cure Inc from the sale of tickets in the Raffle and less all Raffle related expenses as determined by Fight 4 Cure Inc. The determination by Fight 4 Cure Inc will be binding in all events other than a manifest error made by Fight 4 Cure Inc in the computation of the revenues and expenses of the Raffle.

Prize Drawings: At the Prize Drawings, Raffle tickets for all prizes will be drawn at the following times:

1st Prize Drawing: June 1, 2019, 1:00 p.m.
2nd Prize Drawing: June 1, 2019, 2:00 p.m.
3rd Prize Drawing: June 1, 2019, 3:00 p.m.

Winners in attendance of the charity event will be notified via the Public Address (PA) system. Winners not in attendance will be notified by phone or email based on the contact information provided at the time of ticket purchase. The winning names will also be posted on this website shortly after the drawing. The Fight 4 Cure Inc games manager is the final authority in the event of any disputes regarding any of the drawings.

Fight 4 Cure Inc will make reasonable efforts to contact prizewinners using information provided on the winning entry form. If a prizewinner does not contact Fight 4 Cure Inc within 10 business days after the first initial contact notifying the prizewinner of their winnings, then Fight 4 Cure Inc shall give notice to such prizewinner by U.S. Postal Service certified mail, return receipt requested, at the address set forth in the information provided by the Eligible Ticket Purchaser. This notice shall state (a) the prize won, (b) a telephone number of a contact person at Fight 4 Cure Inc, (c) the time and location where the prize(s) can be claimed, and (d) that if the prize has not been claimed within 10 days of the date the notification is given, that Fight 4 Cure Inc may, at its option, retain the prize.

Registration with the state of north carolina and applicable law

This charitable Raffle is being conducted pursuant to CSL Exempt by the North Carolina Secretary of State's Office, Licensing Division Exemption #EX007305, and is being conducted in accordance with the applicable provisions of NC General Statue 14-309.15.

This Raffle is subject to these Rules, the laws of the State of North Carolina, and Applicable Law. If there is a conflict between these Rules and the laws of the State of North Carolina, the laws of the State of North Carolina shall govern. Fight 4 Cure Inc reserves the right to modify the Rules and/or impose additional conditions, procedures, and requirements as may be necessary or required for the Raffle and the award of prizes hereunder to comply with the laws of the State of North Carolina and Applicable Law. This Raffle is void where prohibited by law.
